Last week it was festive season all over India and guess what is it-- It's Durga Puja. I am with my full family for the first time in bangalore this Durga puja.
I must tell you that here Durga puja celebration is mostly done by some bengalee associations. Very well managed clubbed with some gr8 cultural programs....
We all went to Ulsoor RBANMS ground for puja on 26th... It was about 12:30 Pm and my mother and wife did puja there. Also as it was the golden jubilee year of the bengalee association, they have arranged mahabhoj --- free for all with hygienic menu (khichdi, aloo dum, mixed veg, aam chutney, rasagoolla, kheer) and it was unlimited...Please control your tongue...
Next day we went to different places but this time in the evening... Pandals fully adorned and filled with devotees.. Different types of cultural programmes have been arranged at different place.. viz somewhere garhwa, somewhere dandia, somewhere rockband bla bla... but the spirit of the people were same--- and that is "to enjoy fully and involve actively"..
For the last three four years I was totally away from this festival even though I was in bangalore.. but the fact was that I was alone.. It was something like coming back to child age and have a "chalo mela dekhne" feeling... wish someone could have given some money also :)
Lastly thanks to the continous official holiday (with saturday and sunday) that I could have all such kind of feelings :)
